For this project, I worked alongside a Pediatric Gastroenterologist and an Advanced Patient Care Pharmacist at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The goal was to create an educational resource website, Breaking Biosimilar Barriers, for healthcare providers, caregivers, and patients across the nation to help them learn about biosimilar medications. I created all of the illustrations, infographics, and videos for the website, using Powerpoint, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Vyond.
I created illustrations for the site, including biosimilar medications in IV, syringe, and vial form to provide an accurate representation of the available forms of administration. I used Powerpoint to create simple illustrations that could be used across all of the instructional materials like this patient-facing infographic.
Biosimilar medications are relatively new to the healthcare field, so it was critical to explain what they are and how they can lower costs to patients while still providing effective results. I used Vyond to create several animated videos based on the SMEs' expertise to help allay any uncertainties about the medications and to encourage wider adoption.
The SMEs wanted to appear on camera for some of the website content to explain critical and complex data on the topic of biosimilars. We also felt their appearance in the videos would lend credibility to site information. I filmed the experts in a local studio and stitched together the footage with Vyond animation for a dynamic final product.
"It has been a pleasure working with Jackie on creating and developing educational material for our educational website. I am impressed with her ability to take a topic that she knew nothing about and create outstanding educational material. She blows me away with her creativity. She takes feedback and makes the material better with ease. She is a pleasure to work with. I have already recommended working with Jackie to my colleagues."
